INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT ON THE YW

For new industries to rail, the YW provides a complete “Turn-Key” package of rail development assistance including Rail Facility Design & Construction, Rail Operations Planning, Securing Shipping Rates, Arranging Railcar Supply, and Success-Focused Customer Service when shipping by rail using our railroad.  To assist further with making it easy to ship by rail with the YW, our railroad has its own 58-Acre “Yreka Western Rail Industrial Park” which we make available exclusively to industries who require rail shipping.  This property is the only remaining large track of industrial property in Yreka and is less than a mile to Interstate 5 and a full-service truck stop.  This rail park is already zoned industrial and has been pre-designated an “M-2 Zone”, also known as a “Designated Qualified Opportunity Zone”.  An “M-2 Zone” is designated for Heavy Manufacturing and qualifies for capital gains tax and other benefits.  Since the entire Rail Industrial Park is owned by the railroad, the YW can also custom design an incentive package which would include the land and track construction.  The YW’s Rail Industrial Park is only available to those industries and businesses that use rail.
